Week 16:

This week at Pitt the power line was buried and ran to the house so we now have power.
After the power line was buried, we had the whole side and back yard graded. We added seed and straw so that grass will grow.
The flooring company will be out to the house next week to sand down all of the original hardwoods. He should be completed by Friday. We will have our final inspection by Friday of next week and we'll be ready for our Open House!! :o)

The master bathroom was finished this week. We installed maple cabinets and a cultured marble vanity top. To the left of the vanity we installed a linen cabinet for towels and other necessities.
We had the framers install the new porch railings. They have not been painted yet. We will also be installing slate tiles to dress up the porch as well.

Week 11
Week 11:
This week we received and installed our appliances, counter tops, sinks and cabinets. The kitchen is now ready for the last few pieces of trim and a final point-up and paint touch-up.
Outside, we parged our newly built retaining wall as well as the front porch in order to give the concrete a more classic look that is fitting with the historic district of downtown.

Week 4:
This week at Pitt St. we had the insulation company insulate the whole house.

The electrician finished his electrical rough-in of the house. We put 5 can lights in the kitchen and a pendant light for over the island. The electric company will be putting in the electric meter on Tuesday.
This week the plumber was able to finish his rough-in plumbing also, along with the HVAC company.
Next week we will be starting the Drywall process. Things will begin to pick-up at this stage and the house will be completed in no time at all!! :o)

Week 3:

Due to the change we made the first week of construction to the doorway between the kitchen and dining room, we had the framers install 2 steel columns in the crawl space . (Shown to your left is one of the two columns that was installed)
The framers also removed the turn-post that was installed by the previous construction company (the turn-post was used to support the bathroom floor) with a double joist. This allows us to take full advantage of the original staircase and open banister/railing design.
